Covers Epicos I

Todos sabemos que muchos remakes musicales son pèsimos, pauperrimos, penosos. Muchos de nosotros hemos llorado al escuchar a Britney Spears cantar "I love rock and roll",o a Hillary Duff cantando "My generation" o peor aun, a Dolly Parton haciendo lo que sea que hace en su versiòn de "Stairway to heaven". Los han hecho sin asco. No hay respeto por la mùsica en si misma.

Pero gracias al poder del tiempo, hemos podido apreciar tremendas obras de arte.

Y en estas entregas que iràn viniendo tendremos los covers que por lo menos a mi me parecen verdaderamente increìbles. No mejores que las originales en todos los casos, pero con una mìstica propia, impresionante.

En esta ocasiòn tendremos una canciòn de tal vez el màs grande lìrico y literato de la mùsica: Bob Dylan.
Y es que en 1967, "All along the watchtower", rumoreada de tener un significado bìblico, tiene un ritmo bastante tranquilo, con la gran voz de este poeta, que le da un ambiente inconfundible.
Teniendo el cover hecho por Jimi Hendrix al año siguiente, y el poderìo de tal vez el mejor cover de la historia (y una de las mejores guitarras tambièn) tiene una potencia que no se puede describir. La mejor combinaciòn.

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.
